3 But he walked1980 in the way1870 of the kings4428 of Israel,3478 yea,1571 and made853 his son1121 to pass through5674 the fire,784 according to the abominations8441 of the heathen,1471 whom834 853 the LORD3068 cast out3423 from before4480 6440 the children1121 of Israel.3478

4 And he sacrificed2076 and burnt incense6999 in the high places,1116 and on5921 the hills,1389 and under8478 every3605 green7488 tree.6086

5 Then227 Rezin7526 king4428 of Syria758 and Pekah6492 son1121 of Remaliah7425 king4428 of Israel3478 came up5927 to Jerusalem3389 to war:4421 and they besieged6696 5921 Ahaz,271 but could3201 not3808 overcome3898 him.

6 At that1931 time6256 Rezin7526 king4428 of Syria758 recovered7725 853 Elath359 to Syria,758 and drove5394 853 the Jews3064 from Elath:4480 359 and the Syrians726 came935 to Elath,359 and dwelt3427 there8033 unto5704 this2088 day.3117

7 So Ahaz271 sent7971 messengers4397 to413 Tiglathpileser8407 king4428 of Assyria,804 saying,559 I589 am thy servant5650 and thy son:1121 come up,5927 and save3467 me out of the hand4480 3709 of the king4428 of Syria,758 and out of the hand4480 3709 of the king4428 of Israel,3478 which rise up6965 against5921 me.

8 And Ahaz271 took3947 853 the silver3701 and gold2091 that was found4672 in the house1004 of the LORD,3068 and in the treasures214 of the king's4428 house,1004 and sent7971 it for a present7810 to the king4428 of Assyria.804

9 And the king4428 of Assyria804 hearkened8085 unto413 him: for the king4428 of Assyria804 went up5927 against413 Damascus,1834 and took8610 it, and carried the people of it captive1540 to Kir,7024 and slew4191 Rezin.7526

10 And king4428 Ahaz271 went1980 to Damascus1834 to meet7122 Tiglathpileser8407 king4428 of Assyria,804 and saw7200 853 an altar4196 that834 was at Damascus:1834 and king4428 Ahaz271 sent7971 to413 Urijah223 the priest3548 853 the fashion1823 of the altar,4196 and the pattern8403 of it, according to all3605 the workmanship4639 thereof.

11 And Urijah223 the priest3548 built1129 853 an altar4196 according to all3605 that834 king4428 Ahaz271 had sent7971 from Damascus:4480 1834 so3651 Urijah223 the priest3548 made6213 it against5704 king4428 Ahaz271 came935 from Damascus.4480 1834

12 And when the king4428 was come935 from Damascus,4480 1834 the king4428 saw7200 853 the altar:4196 and the king4428 approached7126 to5921 the altar,4196 and offered5927 thereon.5921

13 And he burnt6999 853 his burnt offering5930 and his meat offering,4503 and poured5258 853 his drink offering,5262 and sprinkled2236 853 the blood1818 of his834 peace offerings,8002 upon5921 the altar.4196

14 And he brought7126 also the brazen5178 altar,4196 which834 was before6440 the LORD,3068 from4480 854 the forefront6440 of the house,1004 from between4480 996 the altar4196 and the house1004 of the LORD,3068 and put5414 it on5921 the north6828 side3409 of the altar.4196

15 And king4428 Ahaz271 commanded6680 853 Urijah223 the priest,3548 saying,559 Upon5921 the great1419 altar4196 burn6999 853 the morning1242 burnt offering,5930 and the evening6153 meat offering,4503 and the king's4428 burnt sacrifice,5930 and his meat offering,4503 with the burnt offering5930 of all3605 the people5971 of the land,776 and their meat offering,4503 and their drink offerings;5262 and sprinkle2236 upon5921 it all3605 the blood1818 of the burnt offering,5930 and all3605 the blood1818 of the sacrifice:2077 and the brazen5178 altar4196 shall be1961 for me to inquire1239 by.

16 Thus did6213 Urijah223 the priest,3548 according to all3605 that834 king4428 Ahaz271 commanded.6680

17 And king4428 Ahaz271 cut off7112 853 the borders4526 of the bases,4350 and removed5493 the laver3595 from off4480 5921 them; and took down3381 the sea3220 from off4480 5921 the brazen5178 oxen1241 that834 were under8478 it, and put5414 it upon5921 a pavement4837 of stones.68

18 And the covert4329 for the sabbath7676 that834 they had built1129 in the house,1004 and the king's4428 entry3996 without,2435 turned5437 he from the house1004 of the LORD3068 for4480 6440 the king4428 of Assyria.804

19 Now the rest3499 of the acts1697 of Ahaz271 which834 he did,6213 are they1992 not3808 written3789 in5921 the book5612 of the chronicles1697 3117 of the kings4428 of Judah?3063

20 And Ahaz271 slept7901 with5973 his fathers,1 and was buried6912 with5973 his fathers1 in the city5892 of David:1732 and Hezekiah2396 his son1121 reigned4427 in his stead.8478

7 Ахаз отправил послов сказать Тиглатпаласару, царю Ассирии: – Я твой верный раб. Приди и защити меня от царя Сирии и от царя Исраила, которые напали на меня.

8 Ахаз взял золото и серебро, сколько нашлось в храме Вечного и в сокровищницах царского дворца, и послал их в дар царю Ассирии.

9 Царь Ассирии исполнил его просьбу, напав на Дамаск и взяв его. Он увёл его жителей в плен в Кир, а Рецина предал смерти.

10 Тогда царь Ахаз отправился в Дамаск, чтобы встретиться с Тиглатпаласаром, царём Ассирии. Он увидел в Дамаске жертвенник и послал священнослужителю Урии изображение жертвенника и подробные указания, как его соорудить.
